Like regular Pok?mon, Ucca have a set type that determines their strengths and weaknesses. In case you don't know, here is the 'regular' list:
Fire Water Grass Electric Rock Ground Steel Flying Normal Fighting Psychic Poison Ghost Dark Ice Dragon Bug
If you forget what is weak or resistant to what, you can go to Gamefaqs or Smogon to refresh your memory.
Typing is 4th Generation based. This means a Physical attack will depend on your Attack stat, regardless if it was a 'Special type' in previous generations.
In addition to this list, Ucca can also be the Light type. They are weak to Dark and Poison attacks, but Dark and Ghost Pokémon are weak against it. They are resistant to Fighting and Ghost has no effect on them.
In addition, Ucca can have original inate abilities. Of course, you'll have to ask a moderator for approval.
If you have a suggestion or question about a type, or wish to add a new one, send a moderator or adminstrator a mail.

Day and night usually have little effect on Pokémon battling. However, certain Ucci (most notably Kelius and Karebos) can instigate a special day or night condition that effects their battles. This is called "Perfect Day" or "Perfect Night" and is a seperate condition than weather.
Perfect Day gives a 50% defensive bonus to Light and Grass Pokémon or Ucci. Perfect Night gives 50% defensive bonus to Dark and Ghost Pokémon or Ucci. Either condition fades after a battle, unless it is brought on by either Kelius or Karebos. Perfect Day and Night also give a boost to Morning Sun and Moonlight, respectively.
Weather effects and Perfect Day and Night can be in effect at the same time. (Perfect Night and Sunny Day just means a really freaking bright moon. Work with it.)
Since this forum uses a free-form battling system, these conditions are harder to keep track of and less certain in their benefits. Keep it in mind while you post should it ever come up.
