In addition to the regular competition coming from trainers, Tale Endless is full of conflict.
Most natives of Tale Endless are religious. The two main religions are the Church of Perfect Day, which has Kelius as its patron god, and the Church of Perfect Night which looks to Kerebos for inspiration. Both churches dislike the other, claiming they have more followers, came first, or are generally better. Conflict between the two is minimal, usually done by extreme sects in battle. The Church of Perfect Day are very active in their faith, celebrates the turning of seasons with big festivals, inviting everyone to participate. They often sing hymns to thank Kelius for bringing light and life. The Church of Perfect Night favors humility over the ostentatious worship of their rival church. Instead of seasonal festivals, they have a feast day on the last day of every month, usually within the family. They do not have many hymns and usually recite prayers.
Most immigrants to Tale Endless are caught up in their country's territorial disputes to some degree. Each continent is competing over land, and this is most evident in the taxes on imported goods between territories. Territorial conflict is mostly done by the governing bodies, but regular trainers find it satisfying to prove that they are better than trainers from other regions.
Whether or not your character is a native or an immigrant, whether they participate in these conflicts is up to you.
